The first symptoms of the red palm weevil can be subtle: weaker or slightly bent crown fronds, and slower growth of new fronds.
At more advanced stages, the central fronds appear completely drooping or bent downwards, there is a fermentation smell when you get close to the crown, and finally exit holes left by the adults appear in the trunk.
